Description In 2023, this song was recorded at the home of Esther Naschelski, a jewish WWII survivor, born in Antwerp, 1939. She sang this song with a suprising clarity, yet without any sign that the song’s emotional load had in any way faded for her. Sybrand recorded the song and wrote it down. For a big part of her life, Esther knew very little of her family and her own early life. With help from Johannes Blum, Hanne Hellemans and Hans Grietens, she began writing down memories and starting to research her life and roots, resulting in a gripping biography: “Achter de stilte”
